VEGAS BABY! With Vegas being only a 4-hour drive, it has quickly become a second home for us over the last few years. Also being a member of the Caesars Rewards program, they send offers every month for free rooms, food and much more. Which makes it all too easy to find an excuse to go 😈. Once Shania Twain announced the end of her residency, we knew we had to make another trip. Both the hubby and I have been wanting to see her, so Labor Day weekend we booked the rooms, and decided to fly this time too! Here is a snapshot of our #VegasKhaos.

Flying out was such a breeze. Even though we really don’t save any time since you have to be at the airport a few hours before your flight time, it still was nice not to drive for four hours. Plus, Southwest had some killer rates. Both trips back and forth were about 50 minutes long and went very smoothly. The flight home was delayed about an hour but being stuck in Vegas Airport… was alright by me! We actually have no complaints about flying other than how tight the seats are. You’d better really like who sits next to you as everyone is on top of each other. But watching the sun rise on the trip out was stunning.
Planet Hollywood
PROS
This is where we stayed for our 3 nights. we choose PH since we had free rooms, and the concert was right inside in Zappos Theater. Overall, the hotel and casino is a great option. Having the Miracle Mile Mall right there to shop, eat or just stay in the air conditioning to walk around is fantastic. Especially during the summer months. The best part was just how convenient going to the concert was. Kudos to Zappos and PH for their organization. Lastly, the view of the Fountains was Ahhhhh-Mazing. Our room was on the 32nd floor. The room was nice and had a “hip” vibe to it. The huge bathtub was ohhh so relaxing for a hot bubble bath, and everything was nice and clean.
CONS
Every time we turned the ac down, once the air started to blow, we’d get a strong smell of Marijuana in the room. Not sure where the air was pulling from, but it was overwhelming. We have not encountered this at other Caesars Hotels. Of course, if you like MJ, this probably isn’t a con for you. But for us, we get nauseous from the smell, so it was brutal on our end. Also, if you’re a Caesars Rewards Member, most of the places to use points are 2:1. It is harder and harder to get 1:1 in Vegas. The outside mall areas are third parties and do not take points at all. In the end, we would actually stay here again. The PROS outweighed the CONS by far.
PH MALL Highlights
Coffee Bean (in mall area)
Was our go to place for our iced tea and coffee. Wanted to give a shout out. The employees were super nice and very fast, plus a much better price than Starbucks with shorter lines.
Cafe Hollywood (inside PH)
Not bad. A decent option for food with a large menu to accommodate almost every taste bud. We ate there 3 times during our 3 days. Breakfast was good – Belgium Waffles & Chorizo Omelet. Lunch was better – Burger and Chicken Ramen (spicy miso ramen was huge and delicious!). Dinner was OK – Black n Blue Steak and Ribeye… the Ribeye was meh. Servers each time were great.
Our only issues were: 1) Comp points were down for breakfast which means out of pocket expense 2) Flies – yuck, only a couple but still… no other place we ate at had this. 3) We specifically did dinner for their Prime Rib special they had blasting on their screens. After we were seated, we were told they are no longer doing Prime Rib (the sign advertising it was playing behind the server while he’s telling us this lol).
Flights Restaurant (in PH Mall)
We had a brunch here one day and it was delightful! We were a little worried since it wasn’t as busy, most likely due to their higher pricing compared to the cheap eats most other places offer. However, we thought it was still reasonable for Vegas. I had a flight of mimosas – peach, strawberry and oj for $15. Hubby had a flight of bloody marys – regular, chelada and spicy for $15. Our food was a flight of sliders and 2 egg and bacon breakfast. Service was great and including tip, we spent $72.
Cabo Wabo
At the front of PH, is the ultimate Vegas dining/drinking experience for us. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Their food, drinks and servers have been top notch every time. Cabo is on the list for each trip mainly for the outdoor patio ledge seating. Not only is it a nice view of my favorite Fountains but it’s a blast sitting right on top of the Las Vegas Blvd strip and people watching. Oh the things you see!!
