Picture this: It’s way too early (on a Saturday), around 4:30 AM PST, and here I am, wide awake for reasons unknown. Instead of counting sheep, I find myself reaching for my phone to scroll through Twitter. But little did I know that this early morning escapade would lead me down a rabbit hole of crypto madness. And it all started with a familiar name – @pickorrick, aka Pickle Rick!
As I perused through my Twitter feed, searching for the latest crypto news, I stumbled upon Pickle Rick, an inside joke that has amused my family for ages. Little did I know that Pickle Rick had possibly transcended to a brand-new meme coin that had just launched a short while ago. With a mere 1,100 holders according to etherscan, this crypto gem was on the rise, and I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself.
Now, I must confess, I haven’t seen many episodes of the Rick and Morty cartoon series, but I’m well aware of their peculiarities. Naturally, I expected @pickorrick’s Twitter page to stay true to the show’s vibe. And I was not disappointed! Their tweets were a delightful concoction of crassness, craziness, humor, and wit. Following @pickorrick became an entertaining rollercoaster ride. Watching Twitter users get roasted by the pickle over and over again.
Dodging Scams and Taking the Plunge
I did my due diligence and sifted through more information to steer clear of any potential scams. Plenty were out there piggy backing off of the release. Armed with my limited trading knowledge, I mustered the courage to buy in after verifying and re-verifying the contract address. Now, I’m no seasoned trader, mind you, but I thought, “Why not? Let’s see where this wild ride takes us.” So, with a mere $50 in my pocket, I purchased $RICK, finding a spot among the first 1500-2000 holders. Admittedly, I missed the presale, but hey, life’s too short to pass up on intriguing opportunities.
Armed with their token address, I bravely imported it and voila, I found myself as a proud holder of Pick or Rick coin! Now, don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of worry about falling into a scam. Twitter was abuzz with cautionary tales of honeypot addresses being spread far and wide, snaring unsuspecting victims left and right. But fear not, my friends, for the official Pick or Rick Twitter page had some sage advice: “Follow only our tweets!” They supposedly had a Telegram group, but I decided to steer clear of that madness and stuck faithfully to their official Twitter page. Even then, I exercised caution, double-checking every post and resisting the urge to click on anything suspicious. Let me tell you, the chaos was real! It seemed like everyone and their cousin thought they were about to strike it rich, and trying to keep up with it all was pure insanity.
In the midst of this whirlwind of hype and uncertainty, I felt good knowing that I had navigated the treacherous waters of potential scams and stayed true to the trusted source. It was a rollercoaster ride, my friends, filled with adrenaline and the constant need to stay on guard. But hey, that’s the wild world of crypto for you! As I braced myself for what lay ahead, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer madness that unfolded around these meme coins. So fellow adventurers, the ride is just getting started, and the craziness of this crypto universe knows no bounds!
